
📝 League Structure
Season Format:
Blue Mountain BCA Pool League (BMBCAPL) Eight Ball Division will be held from January ___ to February _____. With a playoff game at the end of the season for the top three teams as well as a wildcard that will be randomly chosen.
Top ten tournament will be held after playoff but before banquet.
Divisions:
BMBCAPL will be known as a traveling division. Teams will rotate to different venues every week.
Team Composition:
Each team will be composed of ____ players that can go up to ____ players with the understanding that ____ will be in active weekly play.
All team members must be active BCA members.
Match Format:
Match will be held in Round Robin format with each player playing with every player from the other team. We will be using the 10-point system.
📅 Scheduling & Attendance
Match Schedule:
Matches are scheduled weekly at designated venues.
Rescheduling:
Allowed only with mutual agreement and league approval. Notice of a reschedule will need to be requested no later then 24 hours before the scheduled game.
Teams must arrive within 15 minutes of scheduled time or forfeit. Forfeits may only be declared in the beginning of the night, before game play. Not in the middle. Once game play starts all games will be accounted for.
If a team forfeits the opposing team wins the matches with a full point core while the forfeiting team receives zero points.
Subs:
Subs are allowed to roam. They do not need to stick with one team. However, they can only play once without being a BCA Member, if they choose to sub again, they will be subjected to fees and rules of BCA.
🎯 Gameplay Rules
Official Rules:
Follow standardized rules of BCA that are attached to the back of this document.
Game Types:
8-Ball
9 ball and Scotch doubles will be discussed at a further date.
Break Rules:
Legal Break:
To execute a legal break, the breaker must either pocket a ball or drive at least four numbered balls to the rail. If the breaker fails to make a legal break, it is considered a foul, and the incoming player has the option to accept the table in position and shoot or have the balls re-racked and allow the offending player to rebreak.
Scratch on a Legal Break:
If a player scratches on a legal break shot, all balls pocketed remain pocketed, except for the 8 ball, which is re-spotted. This is considered a foul, and the table is open.
Fouls:
Failing to call a pocket or scratching on a legal break shot are considered fouls the incoming player has the option to accept the table in position and shoot or have the balls re-racked and allow the offending player to rebreak.
A player will lose if they commit three consecutive fouls without making a single legal shot in a single game.
Game Ending:
Pocketing the 8 ball when breaking without scratching does not result in an immediate win. If this occurs, the breaker can do 1 of two things:
Request a re-rack
8 ball is spotted and continue play.
If the breaker pockets the 8 ball and scratches, their opponent can do 1 of 2 things:
Request a re-rack
Spot the 8 ball while having the cue ball in hand to play from anywhere behind the head string
Time Limits:
There will be a two-minute time limit on all shots. Once two minutes have been exceeded the shot is forfeited and the opponent can shoot.
Earphones:
All earphones will be prohibited during game play. It is disrespectful to your opponent and makes communicating difficult.
🧑⚖️Conduct & Sportsmanship
Respect:
Players must show respect to opponents, referees, and venue staff.
Unsportsmanlike Behavior:
Includes verbal abuse, cheating, or disruptive conduct—subject to disciplinary action.
There will be no Shit-Talking or trying to get into opponent’s heads.
You man NOT pack up your stick until all balls are pocketed.
There will be no coaching of players. If a player needs assistance the player is allowed to call out to one person and ask for assistance. No more than one person can help at a time.
You may not call out rules such as ball in hand or tell other players how to shoot.
Alcohol & Substance Use:
Follow venue policies; intoxicated players may be disqualified. Any form of illegal substance being used during game play, or on the venue’s property will cause the subject to be immediately terminated from BMBCAPL.
Venue Staff has the right to refuse service as well as remove any disruptive people from their establishment.
Blue Mountain BCA Pool League holds no responsibility of intoxicated persons, but will do all in our power to get everyone home safely.
Immediate Termination from league if:
You do any types of drugs on any premises that we are playing at.
If you are found to be cheating while using the Fargo app which includes padding numbers and sandbagging.
Any physical/unwanted contact with another person/player
Being rude/disrespectful to any staff who is help hosting the league.
🧮 Scoring & Standings
Point System:
10 Point System: This means that the winner of the game will automatically get ten points while the opponent will get a point for every ball pocketed.
Tiebreakers:
Use head-to-head results, total wins, or playoff matches.
Standings Updates:
Weekly updates posted online or at venues.
🏆 Prizes & Recognition
Awards:
Trophies, cash prizes, or merchandise for top teams and individuals.
Special Recognition:
First, Second, Third Teams Placed. MVP, Best Sportsmanship, Most Improved Player, Overall wins, and See Me Award.
🛡️ Disputes & Appeals
Referee Decisions:
Since we do not have referees if there is a dispute during the match the two team captains will be expected to step forward and come up with a consensus. If the issue still does not get resolved, then the dispute can go to the League operator and or any of the league directors.
League Committee:
Handles disputes, rule interpretations, and disciplinary actions. We will have an open meeting every month so that anyone can join and contribute their opinions. If you are interested in getting on the League committee, get in touch with your League operator or any league director.
🏠 Venue & Equipment
Approved Locations:
Matches are held at designated pool halls or bars.
Table Standards:
Tables must meet league specifications for size and condition.
Equipment:
Players may use personal cues; house cues must be available.
📣 Communication
League Updates:
Shared via email, social media, or league website.
Team Captains:
Responsible for relaying information and coordinating with league
officials.
